I’d give it 3。5 stars - book is good, but first book emotionally destroyed me, which was amazing (huh)。 This book was still decent, just… didn’t find stories that touching。 “It’s me, not you” - I said to the book, while giving it 3,5 stars

I did enjoy this book more than the first, still beautiful stories but more about things that dont seem to show the expectations of japans society in people。 Its more personal。 Anyways having the rules be explained every time someone drinks the coffe is quite irking。 I am looking forward to the next book!

That crap should've been cut from the book。 The bullshit "explanation" from a man who can't possibly know what a woman feels when she loses pregnancy, and then all the other unsolicited advice and the whole chapter is basically men explaining stuff to women。 I'm not easily triggered nor do I scream "mansplaining", I'm not a (whichever it is now) wave feminist (I am a "basic" feminist though, but not relevant now) and I am not easily offended, but boy did this chapter piss me off。All in all, I loved the first book。 And then this one I borderline hated, but a few sweet moments brought back the feels from the first one。 I truly don't understand how the second book can be such a fail, when the first one was amazing。I have the third one sitting on my shelf, and now I'm a bit scared to pick it up 😅I think I'll just pick it up immediately and get it over with。 Who knows, maybe it heals my wounds from the disappointment of this one 😅 。。。more

I loved how the short stories intertwined with the first book。 I also loved the twists of the lady in the dress being Kaname, Kauzus's mother, and when Kauzu told her she was going to be happy, she disappeared and and older gentlemen took her place。 It will be interesting to see that if in the next book we will find out why this gentlemen did not return from the past/future。 Even better than the first!

A lovely book。 As heartwarming as the first in the series and only slightly less heartbreaking。

Reviewing to say: why。 I see this one heralded all over BookTok as an incredibly heart wrenching and thought-provoking piece of literature, but it’s just… there。 Each “scene” with the diff characters don’t pack enough of a punch because as soon as we’re introduced to them, they immediately go back in time— we don’t know any of these people and we’re meant to have a big emotional reaction when they talk to people from their past who we don’t have relationships to outside the two expositional sent Reviewing to say: why。 I see this one heralded all over BookTok as an incredibly heart wrenching and thought-provoking piece of literature, but it’s just… there。 Each “scene” with the diff characters don’t pack enough of a punch because as soon as we’re introduced to them, they immediately go back in time— we don’t know any of these people and we’re meant to have a big emotional reaction when they talk to people from their past who we don’t have relationships to outside the two expositional sentences we get? The language seemed a bit too beginner-level to me as well。 Don’t really get the hype, but not gonna knock it if you like it。 Just don’t be prepared for a huge life-changing story。 。。。more

This book was just as good as the first。 This book is such a nice, cozy read and I love getting to know the characters in the cafe and their stories。 I'm starting #3 immediately but really don't want these books to end。 This book was just as good as the first。 This book is such a nice, cozy read and I love getting to know the characters in the cafe and their stories。 I'm starting #3 immediately but really don't want these books to end。 。。。more

Another beautiful book with more stories about the time traveling cafe。 This one wasn't as good as the first, but the stories were just as amazing and heart wrenching。 I especially loved the last one (probably because I am pregnant and there were parts about pregnant women in it)。What I especially love about this book, is it shows how communication is important and how a lot of the times, the people we care about, who care about us too, think certain things that may not be true。 It all comes dow Another beautiful book with more stories about the time traveling cafe。 This one wasn't as good as the first, but the stories were just as amazing and heart wrenching。 I especially loved the last one (probably because I am pregnant and there were parts about pregnant women in it)。What I especially love about this book, is it shows how communication is important and how a lot of the times, the people we care about, who care about us too, think certain things that may not be true。 It all comes down to stating the things that you need to state before it is too late and that special person is gone。 I hope the next one is just as good as these two have been, and I am sure it will be。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 A enjoyed this book a little less than the first one and I believe there are a few explanation as to why。 Firstly, I have read more now, the first book was my first book of the year and having read more maybe the story doesn’t hold up as much。 Despite this I think the stories in the first one were better and more flushed out。 - I didn’t cry in this book whereas I did in the first, the stories didn’t have a flushed out satisfying ending and instead insinuated the ending。 In most of them the story A enjoyed this book a little less than the first one and I believe there are a few explanation as to why。 Firstly, I have read more now, the first book was my first book of the year and having read more maybe the story doesn’t hold up as much。 Despite this I think the stories in the first one were better and more flushed out。 - I didn’t cry in this book whereas I did in the first, the stories didn’t have a flushed out satisfying ending and instead insinuated the ending。 In most of them the story focused more on the character in the cafe before they go back in time and when they finally do it is only for 6 or so pages (the time should be limited I guess since they only have until the coffee gets cold)。Out of all the stories - ‘The Best Friends’, ‘Mother and Son’, ‘The Lovers’ and ‘The Married Couple’ my favourite would have to be ‘The Married Couple’。 I enjoyed the plot of this story and how even though Kiyoshi tired to hide who he was his wife instantly knew it was him; very sweet。 I think this story had the most concrete ending and also helped progress the plot with Kaname。 In saying that I know that the third book takes place in a different cafe and there is now a new ghost。 It also explains why they were away when Kei went into the future in the first book。 I hope that the third book wraps up this trilogy nicely 🤞🏽 。。。more

Stories of visitors to the Japanese cafe which not only serves coffee, but also allows visitors to travel in time - with certain conditions。 Very engaging。

Maybe it’s because I didn’t realize this was technically a sequel and hadn’t read the first one, but ehhhh… I dunno。 The grounded rules for how the time travel aspect works are neat and intriguing, but that’s literally where all of my interest was。 The subjects of each story are relatively bland, and I found myself somewhat bored near the end。 (Listened to the audiobook narrated by Kevin Shen (who did a great job))
